Painted from life, these flowers were first grown in Audrey Jeanne's own garden. The daffodil was the very first blossom of spring, picked on a rainy day and brought indoors to her studio to brings its sunshine and beauty. A subtle mix of carved architectural building elements with scrolling, swirl acanthus leaves and flowers are worked into the background adding their subtle sophistication. Hand painted in watercolors then graphically designed into a modern, contemporary composition suited especially well for a cottage, shabby chic style home decor. A great blend of traditional, classic spring imagery and a current decorative sensibility. This image has several companion prints in various sizes.
