Painted from life, these flowers were first grown in Audrey Jeanne's own garden. The daffodil was the very first blossom of spring, picked on a rainy day and brought indoors to her studio to brings its sunshine and beauty. A subtle mix of carved architectural building elements with scrolling, swirl poppy seed heads, leaves and flowers are worked into the background adding their subtle sophistication and a nod to the arts and crafts movement. Hand painted in watercolors then graphically designed into a modern, contemporary composition suited especially well for a cottage, shabby chic style home decor. A great blend of traditional, classic spring imagery and a current decorative sensibility. This image has several companion prints in various sizes.
