From a classic master's brush to a modern world. Painted by Martin Johnson heade (1819-1904) and entitled "Two Hummingbirds Above a whte Orchid" this was painted some time in the 1870s. This image has been cleaned and brightened to a beautiful result. The crisp focus of the contrast the white orchid makes against its deep dark shadowed background draws and holds your eye. In the background a humid, misty, tropical forest jungle with palm trees and soft sunshine is captivating.
