Some of Audrey Jeanne's earliest memories were of going to the San Diego Zoo in Balboa Park with her grandmother and riding on the antique carousel just outside the gates. The sounds of the music, the brightly painted elegant carousel animals rushing by and of course grabbing for the brass ring all have a magical place in her memory and inspired this series of imaginary carousel animals of her own. This one is a bold "Roaring Lion" with royal purple saddle cloth and a Carousel Sign that says, "FREE RIDE If you grab the brass ring." Placed against a worn, crackle finish background with mixed with vintage printer's decorative ornament etched elements for a modern design. This artwork captures the essence of the carousel venue. Perfect to use as decor to set the theme of a new baby's nursery, young child's room or any room where imagination and magic are the theme.
